Sweet bread with figs recipe |
200 gr. flour, all purpose
1 package dry yeast
6 tablespoons butter
1 vanilla
little water
4 large, ripe figs
8 tablespoons sugar
Mash the figs with a fork.Mix the flour, yeast, vanilla and 4 tablespoons butter. Add as much water to get a soft dough (much less than half a cup of water). Knead the dough and let rise in a warm place for half hour.Knead it well and open it with a rolling pin in a rectangular sheet.Half sheet spread half of figs and sprinkle with 3 tablespoons sugar. Cover with remaining sheet. Firmly press around the edges to seal.Transfer to a small rectangular baking dish. Press the sheet to spread in the pan.Spread the remaining figs over the dough. Sprinkle with remaining sugar and 2 tablespoons butter.Bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes (more or less).Cut into squares and enjoy with your favorite yellow tyraki and a glass of chilled white wine.
